We tell stories for many reasons, but mainly because it brings order, clarity, and sense to what we do. In this class, we will write and workshop creative pieces in Spanish.
Here’s what one Fellow thought of our first writing workshop with Álvaro Enrigue: “It was such an honor to spend time with the incomparable Álvaro and an intimate group of dedicated teachers. It was both professionally and personally fulfilling and a wonderful way to meet new people and share ideas.”
In-person master classes last a full school day. Teachers spend three hours working with the faculty member. During the remainder of the day, participants will have the rare opportunity to exchange ideas and strategies with other brilliant educators who share their passion for the day’s topic. Both parts of the day are highly prized.
Álvaro Enrigue is the author of six novels and two collections of short stories. His novel Sudden Death, awarded the Herralde, Poniatowska, and Barcelona Prizes, was translated into English by Natasha Wimmer. Enrigue teaches literature at Hofstra University. His work as a critic has appeared in both the New York and London Review of Books and in The New York Times Book Review.
