Alan Chartock, a familiar presence on public radio, is known for his keen commentary on all things political. In this wide-ranging conversation with Fellows of The Academy for Teachers, he will field questions concerning the complicated relationship between our schools and the political forces in Washington, Albany, and City Hall.

Alan Chartock hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. He is well-known for his interviews with political leaders, including governors, senators, and top lawmakers. Chartock also appears on WAMC’s radio shows The Media Project, The Roundtable, and offers commentary on the station’s Morning Edition. He is professor emeritus at the University at Albany and the president and CEO of WAMC/Northeast Public Radio.
