News Flash: Cyber Clash with China!
Tensions escalated between the U.S. and China as the Nasdaq Stock Market faced a devastating cyberattack possibly supported by the Chinese government.
Teachers are invited to take part in this hypothetical diplomatic crisis designed by The Council on Foreign Relations. Participants will be assigned roles as national leaders—Madame President, anyone?—and together decide on the best response to a catastrophic cyber breach. Sixteen teachers will be given roles to play, as well as short briefs to read in advance. They’ll experience disaster management firsthand and also understand how this role-play series from The Council can turn students on to the thrills of diplomacy.
